Interior structure of buildings

The great majority of modern buildings have the character of being awkward assemblies of unrelated components and parts, and altogether lack the necessary structure to make buildings coherent, living, as designs in themselves.

The structure-destroying aspects of the building process within the building designs we have been making is almost more drastic than the first, larger kind of structure destruction of the world beyond the buildings. It is more invisible, and harder to understand.
